T206Cards.com Auction Errors and Update
Regarding the Issues With Friday's Scheduled Listings on T206Cards.com Auction
An issue with the software that powers our auctions caused an error with the close date/time that was visible to our users based on their time zone. This issue made some listings appear to have closed early, some to be extended, and some to disappear. Our software vendor immediately began to fix the problem but they were unable to do so prior to the schedule close of our first listings, which began at 7pm EST. The issue has now been resolved, however, in order to ensure all users have a fair opportunity to participate in each listing we have made the decision to reschedule Friday's listing to close on Monday, starting at 7pm EST. No bids were lost or reset, the closing time of the auction is all that is impacted. Saturday and Sunday's listings are NOT impacted and will close per the advertised schedule. If you have ANY issues with the website, your bids, your watchlists, or anything related to the auction, please contact us immediately, we are here to help. We sincerely apologize for these errors and want to ensure all of our friends and fellow collectors that this problem was unintentional and unavoidable. Someone on Facebook raised concerns that these errors may have been intended to manipulate bids, extend the auction to drive up cost, or to give other users an unfair advantage in winning. We can not stress enough how untrue this is. We pride ourselves on our reputation and we try and provide a service to the collecting community that allows all of us a fair opportunity to acquire T206 cards at reasonable prices, as low as possible to cover our cost. If we betrayed your trust in any way, please contact us and allow us an opportunity to earn it back. Thank you for all of the support, understanding, and patience. Sincerely - Fred & Ashley Barnes www.T206Cards.com |
Thanks for the update and explanation.

Great auction!
Just wanted to say great auction!. I only came away with one card (was the first underbidder on five more) but it went quite smoothly and the endings worked out well. Nice job!

Yes, I won a couple as well and missed out on several others. It went very smoothly. The format was nice with the 30 second extended bidding periods which created, in my opinion, a pretty simple and clean finish.

I enjoyed it as well! Hopefully this goes on for a long time. Totally revamped my collection, and the path I wanted to go down from the start of collecting T206's. Looking forward to picking my cards up in person. Invoice was easy to pay as well. Website and auction format were really good! Congrats to whomever got that Cy Young as well! I really wanted that, and went with an Evers portrait to add next to my Chance (red) portrait.

Could not agree more. It was a fantastic auction. I cannot wait until the next one.

That was a lot of fun. With Christmas right around the corner and finishing the basement, I didn't have a lot of extra cash. Came away with my first Tolstoi. Payment was nice and easy.
I missed the "30 second extended bid". How does that work? All in all, I'm looking forward to the next one. |
Today I received the three commons that I won. They look great, the auction format was good and smooth. Will buy/bid from T206cards.com again in the future. Thanks!

What a lovely card. My first Tolstoi. The communication was fantastic, the packaging - great! The “Big League Chew” gum inclusion? Priceless!
What a fun experience... |
OK, when is the next one? That was a lot of fun...

This is the wrong area to tout your auctions. PM me if you don't know what to do on the forum or where things go. Good luck
