PSA Card Slabbed Prior to Half Grade - Question
Hello. Is there a way to tell by looking at the serial number that a card was graded by PSA prior to them offering half grades? Bought what appears to be a very high end 6. Would consider resubmitting if I knew "6.5" wasn't available when it was initially submitted. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to tell by the placement of the '6'; if it follows EX-MT on the same line, it's pre-half grades. If it is on the line below EX-MT, it was graded (or reviewed) after half grades.

Thank you.

I totally agree with John's response, but it is interesting that when half grades first appeared (apparently on a trial basis), they were on the same line as the grade. Since this was for such a short period of time, the advice given generally holds.

Good to know. Helps to date cert numbers. Wasn't aware of that transition stage before.
