Ebay Seller oldjunque74 - loads of fakes

oldjunque74 should be NEW Junk.

fairly obvious, but needs to be called out, tons of reproductions they are churning out. How their feedback doesn't tip off the bidders amazes me.

The Sports Memorabilia, Cards and Fan Shop category is infested with sellers of unauthorized fakes, reproductions and reprints. Ebay is complicit. They don't care because they get their cut. I've reported 100's of items and nothing happens. I've even contacted the NFL and MLB and rec'd no response...so I guess Ebay's not the only one who doesn't care. It's getting to the point where it would be easier to list the honest sellers.

The people who come on here listing the onesie, twosies as if they're outliers, must not spend much time on ebay.

Other than autographs, is there anything in the sports collecting hobby that is more often faked than signs? Yes, there are a lot of repro cards but the fake to legit ratio seems incredibly high for signs.

Cards are REALLY bad. I'm almost completely turned off to them....and I only say almost because the desire still exists...it's just that every time I go looking for one I see the number of unlicensed reprints and immediately lose interest again.

Pins have been ruined for me too. There's a guy on ebay making pretty nice fakes and lots of them, so he's diluted the market in my opinion.

Football helmets...Forget about it. Everyone is reproducing old football helmets these days. The average guy would never be able to tell the difference.

All of this is such a bummer. I think the pins are pretty easily detected, for the most part, but it's a bad trend. And agree about football helmets. Some folks innocently making repros for themselves or to sell as such are extremely good at it. Of course, those are often later sold by others as legit, game worn helmets and then there are people who make them with fraudulent intent. There is a guy who used to sell a lot of fake "game worn" baseball helmets on eBay. And people bought them. There is a seller now who makes nice repros and sells them as such, so I'm not referring to him.

I believe I know the seller who had the helmets, mostly 1960's right?

Wasn't his ID minimick or something like that?

Now I know at least 80% were bad, not sure if he mixed in a good one every once in awhile, but I know one of his made it to a major auction house and sold there.

So again not sure if they were all fakes or what but yah some are very hard to tell, and yah Signs, good lord. Brutal on Ebay. Sports and non sports, more fakes then reals on Eb.

yeah, Ive seen their stuff. pitiful repros.
