Custom baseball card artwork
1 Attachment(s)
I am a longtime collector who just started posting in the main forum (I should have started years ago, it's fun). My daughter is a recent art school graduate who has been amusing herself lately by drawing baseball cards using water-based paint markers (the results resemble paintings, but they are hand drawn). I have shown them to several people who suggested there might be some collector interest in these. For a price to be determined (we're talking hundreds, not thousands), she will create a personalized artwork based on the card of your choice. The images are generally postcard-sized on 11" X 14" art paper, but specifics can be discussed with her directly at lily.maslanka@gmail.com. Attached is a sample and thank you for your consideration.
[Note: I know these are not actual cards but Leon has confirmed that this is the proper B/S/T forum because much of the work she has done is in this era (and 1960-1979, where I will also be posting). Her technique works better on cards that are photo-based rather than painting-based. But, of course, the card you wanted would be up to you, the attached is just a sample.] |
congrats, very talented daughter!

Super cool. Great idea I'll bet she will sell a bunch.

Very talented. Good luck on her venture.

Hopefully, two weeks is an acceptable period for a paternal bump. Thank you all for the nice comments and for the orders received so far.

The Aaron looks great, would like to see more finished pieces

Apologies for not monitoring this listing more closely and replying sooner. Here is a link to the baseball-related work on her website https://www.lilymaslanka.com/paintings/baseball-series. Just so you know, some of the other work on the site is a little "edgier" and deals with sexuality and gender issues (you know how art students are!). But, to be honest, I think she gets the most enjoyment from the baseball work. She is a baseball fan and enjoys the graphic design aspect of cards. As I think I mentioned above, the image size of the finished work is roughly 4" by 6". Any larger and it becomes a little too abstract; any smaller and it doesn't work as well as a framed piece.

In light of the front page thread "Pimp my room... coolest baseball art available? Your ideas, plz" I thought this would be a good time to bump this listing. My daughter has already had some satisfied customers and has nearly finished the current orders. She can be reached at lily.maslanka@gmail.com and some examples of her work can be found at https://www.lilymaslanka.com/paintings/baseball-series (which includes some of her newer work as well).

It's been almost two months so I think it's okay to give this a bump. My daughter has caught up on her orders and is ready for anyone else who wants a a custom painting of their (or a friend's or relative's) favorite card. Here are a couple more she has done recently.

In light of the front page thread "Baseball as Fine Art" I thought this would be a good time to bump this. My daughter is still available to create a work of art based on the card of your choice (any card, any year, but most of her previous work has been in the 1950-1979 era). She can be reached at lily.maslanka@gmail.com and examples of her work can be found at https://www.lilymaslanka.com/paintings/baseball-series (below is a sample).
