and No I do not have anything in it, nor can I probably afford anything in it.
But just some amazing items this December at auction here and other houses. |
Christie’s always has the most insane estimates. Like there is some librarian somewhere who doesn’t have a clue what he or she is opining about.
There is a Lou Gehrig signed holiday card with an estimate of 25,000 - 50,000? What? And it’s simply signed with his name? Nothing special? Maybe a $7000 item. At most. There’s been many of these holiday cards in recent years. They aren’t selling for 25-50k. Or anything close to it. |
Thought the same thing about Christie's estimates. Typically an AH will be under on their estimates, but not Christie's. They have a 1934 Goudey Gehrig graded authentic and the estimate is $3,000. Ahhhhh.... no.
|
If their estimates include shipping costs, from what I have heard those ranges are probably right on. :D
