4 Attachment(s)
Sorry if this has been done before, but I’d love to see your nominations for “the perfect card”
In your opinion, which card is the most beautiful ever produced? Bonus points to include images. Here’s are some of my aves: |
Those are some great choices. The Ruth and Matty are definitely on my list. I'd also include a couple others.

Really tough to narrow down. Seing the T206 Mattys posted and have always loved that dark cap. I'll go back a little further with the Kelly, and its storm clouds.

As for general design I think red 1959 Topps cards are, to this day, what I think of if you say "Picture a baseball card" https://vintagecardprices.com/pics/403/2_65356.jpeg |

One of the best looking cards ever produced.

Start with simple, add color, go all out. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ecf5d19e18.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b46b5db205.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4962387384.jpg

Gotta be this one for me. The clouds and grandstand make it look like he’s standing atop Mount Olympus.

Sorry but I don't know how to post a picture for a card I do not own. My vote would be the Best set.........T3. Best card, Either T3 Safe at third or out at third.

I’ve always thought of this card as a work of art.

A pair of black and whites for consideration, maybe not most beautiful , but very striking photos! The D381 Meyers is a really intense and cool image. Also added 1 boxing card that has a really cool image! |

The 1941 Playball Bobby Doerr is my favorite. Is he taking a practice cut at spring training or teeing off at the Master’s? It looks like a Norman Rockwell art piece.

The T227 Cobb single-handedly drew me into vintage collecting about 10 years ago now.
Agree with tons of what's been listed already, including some sleepers I've always loved ('33 Goudey Richards, etc.). Cards = Art, no question. I'm a bit surprised that no one has yet nominated a Diamond Stars card.
|
As for all the cards I pulled out of packs I can't ever top Mantle's 1965 card but a close second are his 1966, 1968, 1969 Topps.
Of all the one's I have bought it is the 1953 Bowman Musial which shows a guy who loved the game. Happy 100th birthday Stan.:) |
