'56 Topps set needs (commons/minors)
I've been meaning to post this for awhile, and Waffle's bump reminded me to.
Howard helped get me closer to completing my '56 set, and now I'm down to 23 left. It's all commons and minors. Hoping that someone might have a fairly large chunk of these, but any responses are welcome. Anything from low grade to mid grade. Looking to spend the standard $1-2 each in low grade, around $3 each in VG-VG/EX, or up to $5 each for sharper Ex I'd request that any inquiries go to Waffle first at the moment (since his bump preceded this), and I'll take the leftovers! List needed: 24 Dick Groat 88 Johnny Kucks 176 Alex Kellner 177 Hank Bauer 183 Stan Lopata 184 Don Bessent 190 Carl Furillo 201 Rip Repulski 255 Bob Lemon 257 Bobby Thomson 268 Dale Mitchell 275 Jim Greengrass 276 George Zuvernik 286 Bill Wight 288 Bob Cerv 297 Bob Skinner 306 Curt Roberts 307 Hoyt Wilhelm 308 Chuck Harmon 309 Don Blasingame 326 Connie Johnson 328 Preston Ward 329 Lou Berberet |
WHAT HOW DARE YOU
I'm just kidding. I actually may have a few of these, so let me take a look and I will get back to you! Any requirements on condition or back color or anything of the sort? |
:D
Back color doesn't matter. Basically anything that would get a number grade, up to around Ex+ (low to mid-grade, doesn't matter, my set is all over the place). Just wanted people to know that it's not a spot where I'm interested in getting slabbed grade 6 minors for 30 bucks or higher grade commons; doing this set economically. I have extras of at least a few of yours too, but would have to check and see if they're grey backs and at least VG. My '56 doubles have been bottom priority to get organized, but this would be an excuse to finally do it. |
In my case, VG+ is kind of a baseline idea. I just want it to have eye appeal - it's going into a binder, for crying out loud! - so VG is kind of where I put it to give people an idea. If it's G and just doesn't have outrageous creases and such, too, that's fine.
When I finished the 1960 Topps set, my Hank Aaron had a little paper loss on the back but the front looked great. It's a balance, you know? I'll look at your list and my box and PM you tonight |
