Birmingham Auctioneers Pre War IV Last Day! Sunday Nov 29th!
This is a paid ad.
Birmingham Auctioneers fourth Pre War auction is currently running. Over 850 lots of amazing pre 1941 cards and memorabilia. Over 250 lots of T206's! https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...96_1_25779.jpg https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...06_1_25603.jpg https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...07_1_25625.jpg https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...08_1_25647.jpg Amazing T205's, Goudey, Play Ball, Caramels, Premiums, Supplements, Strip Cards and so much more! Auction closes Nov. 29th so get your place holder bids in now to be eligible for extended bidding. In extended bidding you can only bid on lots that you have previously bid on. Bidding on one item does NOT make you eligible to bid on everything else. Lots close individually so no need to watch, hoping that your item, which has had no action for hours, gets through. Don't hesitate to post any questions in this thread, we're happy to answer them! We are also in the process of changing the company name to The Collector Connection. So you may want to save the new link https://www.thecollectorconnection.com though both addresses will work for some time to make the transition a smooth one. Thanks! Scott |
Fantastic auction Scott. Good luck!
|
Thanks Dean, already worried about how the hell do I top it come Spring!!!
|
Great stuff. Lot #401 is an m114
|
It's the larger size, I thought the bigger ones were M113's I'm probably losing my mind, not like you're not the resident expert!
EDIT: I am indeed losing my mind I don't know why I thought it was larger than 9 x 12, sorry correction coming! |
I feel it!
I can actually feel my money leaving my wallet!
It is good though, because the offerings in this auction fit my collection style very nicely. Flee , my money, run! |
Brian, was going to get all Emperor Palpatine with you, but it seems like you're already at the dark side :)
|
Just signed up to be able to bid. Some cool stuff that caught my eye in this one!
|
Less than one week left, still tons of bargains. T205's and T206's for under $10. The most beautiful Butterfingers I have ever seen for under $20, Goudey HOF'ers from various sets under $30 plus all the great heavyweight cards that still have room. Get those placeholder bids in now! NO RESERVES EVER.
|
Great auction, Scott. I set my placeholders...but I got my eyes on something nice ;)
|
Strong auction Scott, Good Luck
|
About 20 cards are on my watch list, including several low end cards. Seems there's something for everyone in this auction.

You can stop advertising now Scott (please), my bids are in...
|
LOL my bad.
|
i am sure spamming facebook groups and message boards makes the “estate consignors” feel better. the man paid his hundred bucks. let him get his money’s worth.
|
this is a great auction...I too am dipping my toes into the pre-war era for the first time....but others keep stepping on them...hard :(
|
Just a reminder because it seems to come up at least a couple times every sale. If you want to bid on an item in extended bidding you have to have a bid on that item prior to the beginning of extended bidding. One bid, anywhere in the auction, does not do it.
If you're an s74 silks fan we have some really nice pink ones with only a tiny bit of fraying. Most have a stray thread or two that is still attached as opposed to most of the ones you see where the top and bottom edges are missing many horizontal threads. As of now they are all still under $100. https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...60_1_26947.jpg https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...55_1_26937.jpg https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...58_1_26943.jpg https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...59_1_26945.jpg https://birminghamauctioneersbid.com...61_1_26949.jpg |
Good luck Scott. Great auction.
|
Bid early - bid often!!!!
Prices are strong - that T205 Cobb is out of this world!!! (not my consignment). |
Was very happy to win 4 cards. I hope everyone else had good luck as well!
|
Smooth auction Scott, a little something for everyone, thanks again, and congrats to all the Net54 winners.
|
Show off
I’m looking forward to showing off my winnings once they arrive.
Cuz I think I did very well for my collection “focus “. I mean, I don’t focus at all, but I like what I was top bidder for! |

Great auction, Scott.
I had a really fun time (as a spreadsheet guy) following along with the recent prices during extended bidding and modeling my perceived values net of premium and taxes. I ended up with two cards although I had a few others I would have loved to win. I ended up winning the Young T205 SGC 4.5 and Ruth Schaparia Bros SFC 1.5. I thought that would be my first ever Ruth purchase, but I bought one on Saturday night during the Love of the Game auction (1938 African Tobacco PSA 3). Pretty great weekend for my growing collection. |
Great auction. Thanks Scott for assisting yesterday for my first auction with you guys.
|
What is nice about Birmingham is that they close the lots individually. They don't wait for the last bid of the night.
|
I only won 1 card, but that was a fantastic auction.
I think I had place-holder bids on 50+ lots. Well done w/ the auction. |
I appreciate the individual lot closings as it was easy to see where each of my bids stood in the extended bidding period. Also, the payment process was really easy which is another huge plus!
|
Scott is first class even if his haircut isn't!
He takes most everything - raw lower dollar to graded Cobbs. I would recommend his auction for consignments - mine did very well. Thanks, Scott! |
Thanks for all the support buyers and consignors alike!
Believe it or not our last auction of the year starts Wednesday. It is a post war auction with a Complete Set theme including a 1948 Bowman Set break, Complete 1950, 1952, 1954 and 1955 Bowman and complete 1959, 1960 and 1968 - 1979 Topps with duplicates of a bunch of the 1970's sets including 1971 and 1972! Tons of modern sets as well. Also a 1959 Fleer missing Ted Signs and our normal assortments of singles. bulk lots and more including PSA 9 Topps Jim Palmer Rookie and a few Mantles in PSA 7's and 8's. January is a killer autograph and memorabilia auction. Our next pre war is in April. Drop me a line if you want to consign something! |

Great auction. Looking forward to the next one!
|
Loved your vintage auction. Picked up Chase Colgan's and Hendryx 1926 Zeenut.
|
Really impressed with the format of auction and the ease to track bids. Looking forward to receiving the T205 Cobb.

One quick question if you don't mind. Many auction houses warehouse their previous auctions so you can see what the items went for. A quick check did not seem to show that for your auctions. Any chance of doing that going forward? Rich |
All of our previous results are available using the drop down menus on the left. Just choose which auction you want to see.
|
Great auction! I won a T206 Criger EPDG in hopes to start a back run. Joe

Log into your account. Click on Auction. On the left side, there is a dropdown that has all of the past auctions.

You should not need an account, that does not make a difference. Go to https://www.thecollectorconnection.com on the left side you have all the drop down menus for searching. Under "Browse" you should see the current auction "Post War Sports Cards V December 2020" click that drop down and every auction we've held online is available whether you are registered or not. Without signing in I just did it in a browser I never use so I know it's not cached or otherwise somehow available just to me.
|
OK thank you for that explanation. IMHO the process of looking up past auctions should be a tad easier but that's just me :)
Rich |
I couldn’t imagine an easier way to see past auction sales. But, again, maybe that’s just me.
