Trying to figure out this Brooklyn Dodgers piece
Edit: I now know it's out of the NY American Journal or something like that. But it was a full ticket type deal with his picture and some information below. Seeing how this is only part of it, is it worth anything at all?
I found this in an antique store yesterday along with some sports cards. I wound up picking up quite a few things, including this. I only paid $1 for this, but I thought it was cool for the price. However, I don't know what it is. I checked Dodgers schedules on eBay, but it didn't look like this. Maybe this was just part of it? Not really sure, so I'm looking for some help on what it is and a value. Thanks. https://i.imgur.com/WUareWk.jpg https://i.imgur.com/X3mSXcb.jpg Got this for $20. https://i.imgur.com/LaVYXqL.jpg I also picked up these 3 for $1 apiece. https://i.imgur.com/OI0tHnO.jpg?1 |

As stated above its a 1954 New York Journal American card. There are 59 in the set, all Dodgers, Giants and Yankees. All the biggies are there, Mantle, Mays, Snider and the rest. It took me several years to complete the set because a couple of the commons are really tough to find.

I've had a cut Duke Snider in my $20 bargain bin for a couple years now if that helps with your question.

Unless the Palica was tougher than others in the set to find, I would not think it would have much value in that state. They were not meant to be cut that way, so basically it is just a damaged card, missing most of it (although you have the good part). A dollar is probably a safe bet at both buying and selling.

When I have a card which is damaged like that, it's an automatic 10 percent of book card. I picked up from another dealer at the Dallas Card Show a cut Royal George Kell just to play with. Paid $4 and the logo is cut off.
Just something to play with and put into my boxes of mysteries Rich |
