Opinions on this T206 back

Hello,
This card resides in a mid grade holder from a well known TPG.. Did they miss something or has anyone seen a back like this before? Thank you as always. Frank |
If it's not your card and just a scan I've seen that before, whoever scanned it
had the dust setting turned on and for some reason it removes the 1 that's actually there. |
Is it your card in hand? I've seen scanners that drop the number 1 for some reason and I've seen others that have paper loss but only noticeable in person or a nice clear detailed scan. I've probably seen something like this over 5 times but nothing special.

Your card or just found on the web? Occasionally and depending on settings, scanners sometimes skip over vertical lines. Here's an example with a missing "1" on the flip in the scan (the actual flip is fine).

Thank you
Something I never would have thought of. Not my card, was considering purchasing and was afraid of alteration.
|
I totally missed the "1". I was looking at the color of the outline(closest to card edge) which appears black. I though we were going to have the first black/blue Piedmont back.
|
Yeah I have no idea why, but a Piedmont 150 back missing the "1" in a scan is really common.

I have a Sweet Caporal Harry Covaleski that is missing some letters on the back. SGC graded it a 1.5 there is a small spot of paper loss in the lower left corner but it doesn't look like paper loss where the letters are missing. The funny part of it is that I knew the "a" was missing from the word Years when I bought it but just noticed that the "s" is also missing when I dug it out to take a picture of it.

Missing 1
I once bought a card like that on eBay and thought I found something rare when the back scan showed Piedmont 50 subjects only to be disappointed when I received the card and it had the usual Piedmont 150 . Kept the card anyway (Dahlen Boston ) but thought that I found a new variation. Oh Well !
