1921 Koester Ruth vs. 1922 W575-1 Ruth
2 Attachment(s)
Any idea how you distinguish a blank back 1921 Koester Ruth from a blank back 1922 W575-1 Ruth? They're both blank backed and they each have the same print defect over the "er" in "Americans" on the bottom. I've attached a pic of each for reference. I'm just not understanding how someone could distinguish a W575-1 Ruth from an ultra rare Koester Ruth. They look like the same exact card to me

Some have said that the stock is a bit different, but the only way that I know is of the Ruth came as part of a Koester set or collection of the cards.

Ruth
Great question. I really like that the W-575 set has so many Ruth variations. Not sure how one could distinguish between the W-575 George Ruth variation and the Koester bread Ruth. My understanding is that the Koester cards were issued as a complete set...I think someone on this forum has the set still in tact as issued from Koester. Maybe the graded Koester Ruth cards were submitted with other cards that appear in the Koester set and not the W-575 set?

One is clearly bigger than the other. ;)
