Burdick photo
Leon: That is just a great photo, especially with the card catalogs and other items on the desk. Evocative of the era.

I'm from Syracuse and there are quite a few Burdick Streets, roads, parks, etc. Cool.
|
Wow that's amazing!
|
Very cool! I love the 1946 and 1953 ACC's in the background.

He wore a pretty wild tie for back in the day!
|
Its crazy they talk about all the baseball cards that he owns, then gives his home address.

Great photo.
Jefferson had severe arthritis, if you look close you can see his hand wrapped up. |
Terrific

Very cool photo.
A few years ago one of the t-shirts I made to wear at National was the silhouette portrait of Burdick: https://www.metmuseum.org/art/collection/search/397227 |

I thought for a minute there that Mr. Burdick May have stolen my desk!

What a great photo! My hat goes off to Jefferson Burdick by what he was able to accomplish despite his Rheumatoid Arthritis. He has a lot to teach us.
|
Very cool! The first time I heard of him (at least that I can remember) is when I was doing research on my 1889 A35 Goodwin Round Album set.

As the stamp on the back of the photo shows, the photo was taken for a Xmas day feature in the Syracuse Herald, 25 December 1955. Here's the full article from the Syracuse Herald - the attachment upload editor reduced the image quality, so I had to split it into two parts.
