Wheatland Auction winnings
So did anyone here win anything in the recent Wheatland Auctions of the Uncle Jimmy collection?
I won 2 items. One is the signed 1934 Goudey Frank Grube. He is one of the rarest signed carss in the set. He is the 3rd earliest player to pass away in 1946. Only Gehrig(1941) and Ed Brandt(1944) passed earlier. I have only seen one other 30yrs collecting the set. I am now at 83/96 of the set. I will likely never finish unless i hit the lottery to be able to afford the Gehrigs, but that's ok as i enjoy the chase. The other item was the Overland Candy wrapper(trimmed) signed by his wife. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c263222f20.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9da61de7aa.jpg Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk |
I somehow managed to win 7 signed 1933 Goudey cards. For close to 10 years I have been picking up signed 1933 Goudey cards and currently have 198 different autographed cards from the 240 card set. I'm two away from my goal of 200. Once I cross that milestone, I'm probably done. That said, if anyone has any signed 33's, message me: martyesullivan@yahoo.com

Very nice pickups, Mark! Congrats! |
I bought most of the 48 Bowmans. Just thought I had never seen them so sharp, and I wasn’t disappointed when I got them. Beautiful cards. The Musial has a rough cut on the bottom border which dropped it to a 5 but the picture is stunning compared to most I have seen. Fun auction!

I picked up the signed 1933 Goudey Bing Miller and the signed 1934 Goudeys - Oscar Melillo, Willie Kamm & Red Rolfe (loved the inscription to Uncle Jimmy with 1942 Yankees).
Does anyone know if there will be any other Uncle Jimmy auctions, or was this past auction the last? |
