T206 color with Brown Hindus
I have had a bunch of these over the years, and they all had pale color on the front compared to cards with common backs. Does anybody know why? I recently bought a Clark Griffith portrait and the color almost had a yellow hue to it....

Curious. Maybe post a pic? I’m sure the t206 experts on the board will have well-reasoned theories if not an outright answer for you.

Doesn't appear to be universal as, at least to me, color on this one looks pretty vivid (despite the terrible focus).

You're right Bill, very nice card. Maybe it's just me!

I think the color problem is limited to the cards with the dark orange and red backgrounds. Those are frequently a different shade than their non-Hindu counterparts. Look up sales of the Tinker and red Chance portraits, those are the first two that come to mind. Beaumont too.

Happen to have these two for comparison
