I'm blessed to own a 1933 Delong of Simmons. It's one of my favorite cards.

Simmons as a Senator
 

Al Simmons played two seasons in Washington late in his career. The first one was poor by his standards, but the second rebounded closer to his career norms. It was his last elite performance and included 21 home runs, which was the first time any Washington player exceeded 20 home runs for a season.

..and Doug's post ( #8 ) shows him in a Tigers uniform... this is a 1937 R-314 Goudey Premiums Wide Pens Type 5 ; they put a dozen or so Tigers from 1936 in with the Montreal and Toronto International League players..

I didn't realize Simmons was an Indians' coach. Did he overlap with Speaker?

Here's one from when Simmons was with the Tigers. A 1936 Diamond Stars, with the Sox logo taken off the uniform.
