Memories of 1977 Hostess Twinkies wanted

I am working on wrapping up my research on the 1977 Hostess "Twinkies" set. These are the cards with the black bars that came in single serving cakes. Not the ones in panels of three on the boxes.

I'm hoping to hear stories from collectors who remember buying those cards when they were issued. Particularly memories of what products they were and what part of the country they were in.

How the cards were distributed is a key point in understanding them. Most people have the Twinkies and Cupcake version so there's no mystery there. However, if you remember buying Ho Hos or Ding Dongs, SnoBalls or Crumb Cakes in individual packages I want to hear from you.

So, please, if you have any memories of buying single serving Hostess products in 1977 please let me know.

Thanks.

I was buying these in Ventura County, California. I remember having to buy Suzie Qs to get certain players. I really didn't like them, but ate them to complete the set. I no longer have my set so I couldn't tell you which players, but they were a larger package.

The only thing I remember is in the fall of 1977 in New Jersey buying single servings of Bill Buckner and Rich Gossage because they were on different teams than on the Topps set which fascinated me at the time, especially Buckner because he was shown as a Cub. I'm sure that I had no concept of airbrushing at the time, and I'm pretty sure both were the common Twinkies package.
