I put this in the modern area, got 100 views not no info so figured maybe if i put it here someone would have some info.
Just looking for some help here as im more of a pre war collector. i have seen a bunch of different trout rookies ranging from huge money to not much at all. 2009 - 2011..... whats the deal with the bowman , topps 100 card? also any info would be helpful on trout rookie cards- like which ones are good or a waste of time, theres so many "trout rookies" just looking for a bit of help as to whats what. thanks guys. |
The 2009 Bowman Chrome is his best card followed by the 2011 Topps Update.

I rarely buy modern and have a small box with whatever it is I buy stashed away in there. I was going through the box when I ran across a 2012 Heritage Trout and knowing it was not a rookie I put it on the side and forgot about it. I went back to that box and decided to find out what that card was going for on Ebay and was shocked to see that this was his first Heritage card and they have been going between $80 and $150. I sent a small order out to SGC and for giggles I tossed that Trout into the submission as it could easily be a 9 or perhaps a 10.

too bad I wasn't buying modern in 2011 and they are so expensive now. That 2011 Topps Update is a great looking card IMO. I'd love to pick one up but not at the current prices :(
on the other hand the 2009 bowman chrome not so much........... |

I got 2 of these. Debut & 1st hit tickets. Gonna get both signed and inscripted like the other Debut ticket I own. Also have his first Home Run ticket. All will be signed & inscripted!

The 2011 Topps Update in PSA10 is eclipsing $2,000, which I simply can’t wrap my head around. Got one for around $100 four years ago. Wish I had grabbed a few more.

2k for the base Topps rookie is madness! Sold mine a couple years ago for 500 in psa 10 and I thought people were nuts paying that, such a mass produced card.

I like his minor league card from Cedar Rapids with Perfect Game. Small Pop and issued as a team set, at the stadium. But the king of Trout cards is pictured next to Ty (below). Wanted to give the thread a vintage taste to keep it here on the prewar side. Trout is being compared to many of the all time greats, which I feel is a little early, as he still needs to play 8-10 years and produce at a high level.
