OT: Looking to Create a Website

Since I am spending so much time indoors, I have been thinking about putting together a website for my business. Right now it's just an experiment. I want to try selling sport cards and other memorabilia on my website and try to move away from eBay.

I have been looking at some of the website developer applications. I have not been able to find a decent template that would work well with my theme of sports memorabilia.

Can anyone recommend a decent application to design a website? I would also consider paying a service to do the work for me but allows me to update it myself.

Howard,

I would start by looking at WooCommerce: https://woocommerce.com/

This is WordPress' e-commerce plugin. There is a huge community of users behind WP, so whatever you're trying to do has been done by many others (that's a good thing). Good luck.

I have used Big Commerce for my non card related business for the last 4 years and really like it. It was easy for me to set up and use plus they have great over the phone customer service. Joe

Re: OT: Looking to Create a Website

I left ebay when they required sellers to accept electronic payments. I haven't regretted it for one instant. I built the one in my signature line from scratch with the help of a friend. You can tell it's homemade, but sometimes I think that's part of the charm. As an added benefit, it cost me nothing but time to build. Good luck with it.
