Another Round of Vintage Cards that Aren't

Show a card that isn't :)
Here is a nice card. My best guess is a W501. Thoughts, I could be wrong?

You mean counterfeit or misclassified? Can't tell with your example other than the grainy image which seems wrong. The bottom edge seems weird too for a number grade. Maybe it's a cracked holder?
Recently an SGC grader sat down for a 45-minute interview with Cardboard Chronicles and talked about how his first job with the company two years ago was in their identification team and how important it was for them to understand the nuances of every card set, from Old Judges to Chromes. Only watched 10 minutes so far, but it may be of interest to people. I'll post it in a separate thread since it looks like it would have broader interest than just this thread.

Correction: discount code already expired.

I said I thought it is a type of w501. The bottom border is indicative of that series.

It appears that the Sisler shown is a 'W501-2' card, a designation coined by our Rhett. I have a few 'W575-1' cards that look just like the Sisler shown. Here is what Rhett wrote about concerning these W501-2 cards. Thanks also to Val who originally posted Rhett's work on another thread a few years back

The title says "Vintage cards that aren't" so I wasn't sure if you meant they weren't vintage. Something about dangling participles?

It was a marketing gimmick.
