Love seeing these. Interesting how a few are horizontally flipped for the card art (Ball, Grant, and Herzog on that page).

I believe he posted, or referenced this a couple of months ago, great research.

Last month, Hunt's lot 503 had this Bridwell photo. I had some bids in, but I did not win it. I don't see Bridwell on the list above.

I've never been a huge fan of the cards but the photos are outstanding!

That Flickr album was my creation ⚾️. Pulled all the original photos from the archive I work with (formerly of the Police Gazette). The process took several months as I had to check the files in-between other responsibilities during working hours.

Oh and I ended up with the Bridwell from Hunt. Babe Adams Photo has been sold but the others are up for grabs.

Bridwell was NOT in our files. At least not since I started working with them. Based on the verso I do believe it was in the same archive at some stage but was separated. I do know of around 20 other T205 image matches that suffered the same fate. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the archive initially had them all.

I'm glad you ended up with that photo lot, Andrew, and thanks for the information.
I know collectors say there's a whole wide world of collectors out there that are not on this board, and that may be true, but for the stuff I bid on, they are all on here. Cheers, Rob

hunt auction

Andrew,
Who is the guy shown in profile on the far left (dark uni and hat)? The Hunt catalog listed him as Bresnahan, which was not right.

Right, so the back of the photo does ID him as "Bresnahan, Chic Nat." which is very odd because you don't often see a photo misidentified as a completely unrelated player.

In the end the guy in question is actually Paul Strand with the 1913-1915 Boston Braves.

This was great thank for posting. The colors really softened up these guys compared to the black and white photos. Joe

+1 Love seeing the photos. At the end of the day I am still a card guy but those photos are quite enticing. Thanks for sharing
