Not to be a wet blanket but I think they printed a "tall tale". If you think about the physics of it all. To cut a pitched ball in half with an axe seems pretty much impossible. OK, lets say he did. To do it the axe must be swung toward the pitcher and both halves of the ball would have to travel passed the bat. How could one half get hit over the fence? I'm not buying that story at all.
