Very cool letter from then coach and former player bob scheffing to robert spackman (former minor leaguer, author and siu trainer). The letter is granting spackman access to use his photo in his upcoming book. Scheffing is also requesting that spackman get him in contact with a pair of amateur pitchers in philadelphia...

Scheffing writes:
“Just got clobbered real good in philly, and if ever a club needed pitching this one does.”

Scheffing would later become the gm for the mets aNd be known as the guy who traded Nolan Ryan...

Letter is dated 6/9/54. It comes with original envelope that is stamped 6/10/54. Wonderful graphics on the letterhead.
