I am not sure, but I have seen that same design on a typographers league brochure. The fact yours has holes like it was bound and has a typography ad may connect somehow to the brochure I remember. Very nice pieces.

Doug I cannt read the small print are the players names on both the front and in the list of NY Journal employees on the back? I have seen similar Items that had a team photo and an ad for or the teams sponsor / place the players worked. If memory serves not in shape of glove but round and a few years later late teens early 20's. But I think in general that is what this is. A premium from a semi pro commercial league. JMHO

Believe it to be 1908 souvenir
Doug, I think these are pages from a September 1908 from New York for the first printers baseball tournament for the Morning Newspaper Baseball League.
There is a rare book dealer with a complete copy for sale and a cover illustration which shows the exact same shape including holes for binding at the end. I am sorry I don’t know how to add a website reference, but I this is what I thought I had seen. It is possible you have another year or whatever, but I am pretty sure this is what is. The book dealer is very high end and has had his item for years, the price he has it listed for complete is 2500. His description notes he was unable to locate any other copies in any of the major libraries. If you can’t find it or have an interest in contacting the dealer, please let me know and I can give you the information and some help with dealing with him. |
This appears to be the item you are referring to:

Thanks Chris, yes it is.

Thank you guys.
That makes perfect sense, and I agree with you. I had googled many of the names and there were many printing connections, especially with "Modispacher" on the Pittsburg team. Thanks again for solving the mystery, Doug |
