Just wondering if I could get an opinion on this Ty Cobb autograph, and wondering what a roundabout value would be, considering it seems to be shellacked.

Thats what I thought as well from all the reports and stuff i have read from links on this site

I don't know the back story to this reference.

I'm no autograph or Cobb signature expert, but a logical question would be why is the ink so bold, clean and mint condition on such an aged and worn ball?
