1971 Topps for Sale on Ebay
Anyone try buying nice 1971's on Ebay, only to find that the vast majority of listings show a black background... which is normally fine when selling cards, but a bit counterproductive when selling black bordered cards. There's one card I'm particularly interested in but I can't tell how the card is centered, let alone how the corners look. You'd think proper presentation would be obvious when selling anything on the internet.

Some folks prefer a darker background with 71s as it is then easier to detect any white along the edges/corners. I do see on higher grade 71s where it is difficult to determine the centering when a card is scanned against a black background. Ideally a non white / non black back ground would be best, however, many sellers utilize a sheet fed scanner for efficiency reasons and the choices with most sheet fed scanners is either a black or white background.
