FS: Dahlen Boston SGC A, NOT trimmed, rare print error

Looks like a 7.5 or 8, sharp corners and well centered with full borders. This card measures out, and close inspection under a glass reveals no signs of trimming, none.. You will notice at the bottom of the card, the name Dahlen has a print error, and I have been told that this is a factory misprint, somewhat rare. I dont know if SGC is penalizing this card for that, but again, no evidence of trimming or tampering....Fantastic card $550.......

It's a caption print flaw I have scans of several just like it in my print flaw
folders including this one I don't think that's why they gave it an A.

Thanks Pat for the info, makes a lot more sense now being a factory error.....

You can see how the corners are a bit upturned on top and down-turned on the bottom two. This card may not be trimmed, but that condition, I can tell you from experience, is a red-flag trimming "tell" for SGC.

Infraction given. None of this should be in a bst thread

I'm not sure what you are seeing Rob....I don't see what you are suggesting, and I've looked at this card closely. If this card has been trimmed, it was a huge, over sized card with huge borders. The card actually measures a tad longer than normal accepted T206 measurements...

robw1959 02-01-2020 03:46 PM

Could just be a bit of scan distortion, but it looks to me like the corners are flared outward just a tiny bit. That's all I'm saying and theorizing. And it might be over-sized, with ample borders and all, but card size is just about the last thing the TPGs look for when grading, especially with the early cards that were cut so inconsistently. Great looking card though.

Fantastic card... I measured this card under a loupe, no way it is trimmed.....

I can ask Dave Forman at SGC to confirm this if you’d like.

Jeff, please, thanks.... Oh, Hell.... I forgot. You're Dave's attorney! Wonder what grade he would give if this was your card?

What does me representing Dave have to do with the grading of your card?

And Dave looked at it and said the card is trimmed; although he’d like to see it in hand to confirm.
