Likely a retail sponsor of a local ball team. I google mapped a John R St and Adams Ave. intersecting right beside Comerica Park in Detroit.

What I though right away was that it might be some kind of racing team or crew from the Detroit area. Seems more likely to me without any number on it.

Yeah but he's MacManus not McManus.

The MacManus link seems correct only because the advertising "MacManus John & Adams" is also spelled as "McManus John & Adams Ad Agency". This company was in Michigan and was Pontiac's ad agency.
https://www.hotrod.com/articles/1982...-confidential/ Also https://digital.library.in.gov/Record/IUPUI_IMS-4121 There are many other text articles that use "McManus" however I can't find any images showing that company name. Also same with "MacManus" ... this might be a case for some collectors or researchers in that hobby, although I doubt it will identify where this shirt was used. |
Thanks guys for all the legwork. The pink color throws me a little... I appreciate all the information.

After watching almost every episode of American Pickers, I'd say it's a vintage motorcycle racing shirt, which was probably red when made (maybe from the 1930's?), and has some heavy fading. Cool piece.
