NYC January dinner (Jan 24 or 25)

Pete (ullmandds) is going to be in NYC the weekend of January 24/25. What a better way to mark the occasion than to have a long-overdue NYC dinner?

If you'd like to come, please post or email your interest and availability for that Friday/Saturday.

Location TBD in Manhattan.

Cheers,
Steve

Wives invited? Very interested but if I make a trip to NYC without my wife it might not end well for me. :)

NYC dinner

Happy New Year, Steve

Sounds good to me. A great way to "kick-off" 2020.

Whatever it takes! A couple wives attended the last one, and everyone had a nice time.

Hey guys, I'm hoping to be able to join. Sat would likely be better for me.

Exactly ! I’d be told to stay there !!! Lol

I'd love to join, my preference would be Friday, my dad's birthday is Saturday

Aquarian Sports Cards 01-05-2020 07:14 PM

Friday would probably be tough for those of us coming from out of town unless it was a late dinner.

brass_rat 01-06-2020 09:26 PM

Thanks for the feedback back -- right now Saturday looks like the favorite. Any more takers?

Looking into places in midtown or uptown, which will hopefully be good for those coming into the city.

I will be in the city at Billy Joel, so can't make it, but it will be a blast if it's anything like the last one. Have fun, guys!

How was the dinner???

Aquarian Sports Cards 01-29-2020 11:19 AM

Can't speak for everyone but I had a great time. Was awesome meeting Buzz and Pete and seeing DJ again and "officially" meeting Steve. Though we had met very briefly previously. Great conversation and great food and always nice to have an excuse to get into the city.

ullmandds 01-29-2020 11:21 AM

Aside from me launching a meatball all over myself...dinner was great fun!!!! It was great to finally meet DJ...Scott(and his lovely wife)...Buzz and Steve. It's always fun to "talk shop" with those who speak the same language!

First, I have to thank Steve for organizing everything. I had a great time. The food was great. The group, while small, was a pleasure to hang out with. It was good seeing people I've known for awhile as well as finally meeting others I've known online for years but never met before. Personally, I can't wait for the next one.

yes! thanks again Steve!

KingFisk 01-29-2020 12:44 PM

Glad everyone had fun. I look forward to being back at the next one.

MVSNYC 01-29-2020 01:45 PM

Sorry I missed this one (might be the first NYC Dinner I missed). I used to organize them back in the day. Always crazy threads, but a fun time.

Glad you all had fun...See you next time.

brass_rat 01-29-2020 06:48 PM

I'm glad that everyone had a good time -- I certainly did!

I hope that we can do another one in the spring... Better weather and some baseball!

I really appreciate Steve's effort in putting it together. Had a great time. Missed having a meatball in my lap, tho.

wise guy!

I have worn food before but don't think I have worn a meatball in my lap :).
Sounds like it was a fun time. My only NY dinner was fun and very interesting. I learned that to park for a few hours in NY city it cost an arm and a leg.
Also, you don't get free refills on tea (at regular restaurants) like you do in Texas.

I actually parked on street for free which blew my mind. Normally I'd park at Port Authority which has the best rates, but it was pouring rain and would've been a long wet walk or a cab ride.
