Same Name
While browsing the web, I came across this article. Two players who have the same name -- Brady Freigl. They also look the same. https://www.wtsp.com/article/sports/...f-cd2a1f1b7413
How many players have had the same name through the years of baseball? I can think of Frank Thomas. I didn't find a list online when I searched. |
I doubt he will ever make the big leagues but Rougned Odor has a brother named...Rougned Odor, of course.
There were also two Bob Gibsons. I'm beginning to see a hall of fame connection because there were two Frank Bakers as well. |
Weren't there two Maximillian Carnarius-es? No, wait it was two Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish-es
|
And don't forget about two Greg Harris's who were both relievers in the same era. One was ambidextrous.
And the two George Burns's BOTH of whom amassed over 2000 hits in the same era. |

The 1962 Mets had two pitchers named Bob Miller on the team at the same time, at least one was left handed and the other right handed.

I've identified 9 different players with the same name who played for the Cardinals:
Pedro Borbon Sr 1980 & Pedro Borbon Jr 2003 Jim Brown 1915, and Jim Brown 1937-1943 John Butler 1904 and Johnny Butler 1929 Billy Campbell 1905 and Bill Campbell 1985 Cris Carpenter 1988-92 and Chris Carpenter 2004-2012 Ducky Holmes 1898 and Ducky Holmes 1906 Mike Mahoney 1898 and Mike Mahoney 2005 Bobby G Smith 1957-59, 62 and Bob Smith 1957 Jack B Taylor 1898 and Jack Taylor 1904-06 |

How about brothers Jeff Pfeffer and Big Jeff Pfeffer. Kind of confusing. Are you in Indiana or Louisiana? Rob
|
There are 3 brothers all named Wander Franco in the minor leagues now. It’s a long shot, but it would be neat if all 3 made it to the majors.
|
The Baltimore Orioles have had three Dave Johnson's play for them
|
Sam Jones
|
Mike Stanton the braves pitcher and Mike Stanton the outfielder for the Marlins before he changed his name to Giancarlo.
|
When someone mentions Mike Tyson, my first thought is still the Cardinals infielder from the 70's.
