T206 Ty Cobb greenbacks have they peaked????
Do you think the Ty Cobb Greenback has or do you think it still has room for growth
If somebody would upload a photo for me I would appreciate it Mdautographs@gmail.com 951 330 1769 |
Tough question to answer but I think we're at a short-term top for that card as they've moved quite a bit in the last few years. No way to know if it's an all-time top, of course but I think they may have peaked in the short term.
Will be interesting to hear other thoughts on it. |
Personally I have felt the Green Cobb has been overpriced for a while now. There is no shortage of them and the price has just continued to skyrocket. I could be wrong of course, but that just how I feel about them. I think the Red portrait has a little room to go up still, but the Green is past due at this point.

They have both skyrocketed in price over the last few years. I wish I would have bought a nice red portrait before the prices went crazy.:( |

IMO Beyond Peaked....I'd sell..I feel t206's are way over priced at this time.

High end for the grade is where it’s at. Still headroom. Near perfect centering, fat boarders, good color and focus. In lower grades, crease is fine - that’s why lower grade. Love the T206 Cobb’s - always super high demand, are they not. About as classic as classic gets.

I suggest everyone sells me their strong eye appeal T206 HOFers now before the pending disaster. Get out before the sky falls! Just shoot me a PM before the apocalypse.:)

I would try to get to 50 green cobbs :)

Speaking from experience??? :D

Not sure if it has peaked or not, though it doesn't seem likely, but it is an epic card in an epic set. I would like to own one!

Someone probably asked the same question when they were $200. Answer is always NO.

Take a look right here on BST (SGC 40 Cobb green) - appears to be quite nice for the grade.

I would like to see asking prices remain after a card is sold, and some kind of feedback system added, but it's a great resource with no fees for the buyer or seller. |
+1 on asking price and feedback. The way it stands the only folks that don’t know the asking price are the ones That happened to not see the listing before it was sold. Plus sometimes I have a hard time remembering what I paid for something LOL. But I definitely like buying here better than eBay

Over Priced Green Cobb?

What I’m saying is I believe a much better time to buy these cards is coming in the not to distant future. I’m still not a buyer of cobbs t206’s at these current levels. |

I'd agree if you are predicting an economic shift downwards.
Under normal ebbs and flows I don't see any of these key T206 cards going down in price. While you may see prices flatten they will gradually increase over time like they have over the last 100 years. You can pretty much count on it. Quote:

A PSA 4 Green Cobb just went for $14,376 in tonight's PWCC auction. What the Shill is going on here?!

That was a very nice 4. Someone probably just stepped up because of the eye appeal of the card. It happens. I'm pretty happy with this one I picked up in the bst here.

I don't believe that final auction price one bit....

The green Cobb is impervious to grades or shifting economies. It is simply a beautiful card and you're going to pay far more than you expect to pay for an appealing example, regardless of the grade. You may even find yourself paying more for a beautiful 1 than you will for a technically correct 2.
