Best Movies of 2019 Thread
New movies only. . . . what's the best new movies you saw this year.
I'd say Joker Parasite Once Upon a Time in Hollywood The Irishman ... probably in that order. |
Midway had very good battle scenes, though the dialogue was a bit clichéd.

I went to two movies this year, the first time I had been in a theater in years. Downton Abbey and Ford vs Ferrari. Both were great. I plan to go back again in 4-5 years.

I really liked the anti-hate satire Jojo Rabbit! Peanut Butter Falcon was fun, as were Booksmart and Knives Out. Amazing Grace and the Linda Ronstadt movie were excellent, from the musical documentary category.
|
Honeyland - a beautiful documentary
Parasite - heard the raves, saw it, still jumped up on me The Irishman - haven't seen it (nor Roma from 2018) since I refuse to be extorted by Netflix. Suppose I'm just a fossil. |

A big DITTO ! to what you said. My wife and I saw this 2-hour special last nite. We remember Linda Ronstadt starting with the late 1960's. An unbelievable multi-talented artist. A documentary well done, and certainly worth watching. TED Z T206 Reference . |
The Art of Racing in the Rain - perfect vehicle for Kevin Costner's monotone delivery.
A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood- I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Rogers in person. Excellent portrayal by Tom Hanks. Great premise for the movie. Peanut Butter Falcon - Very enjoyable. I did not see the chick porn Fifty Shades movies so I had no perception of Dakota Johnson. She was quite good in this. Her father could actually watch this performance. |
The Joker is about as real as it can get for a madman.
