1937 Washington Redskins First Game Ticket Stub .... Maybe
2 Attachment(s)
So I left my family during a Thanksgiving to watch some football, and I started sorting through some old ticket stubs. Came across this generic 30’s/40’s Washington Redskins ticket.
There is no date or seat, just the letter “A”. The only thing close I can find is an eBay listing for a 1937 ticket stub with no date, just the letter “G” but the original owner scribbled the date on it in pencil. The game was against the Packers and was the 6th home game, which should be “F”. So I am surmising that this is either the first preseason game or the first regular season game. Anyone have any Redskins home stubs to compare it to? Thanks again and Hapoy Thanksgiving. |
If it was a preseason ticket or first game of the year, why would it be 50% more in price, and standing room no less, than a ticket that appears to be definitely from that year? I would guess it would be from a few years later.

You would think that... but then I found this

One is Simplex T+P company, the other is Arcus-Simplex.
There's an Arcus-simplex-brown that's currently around, and has some equipment for sale on facebook. If you can figure out when Simplex T+P became Arcus-simplex that should give you a rough idea what the earliest year could be for that one. https://www.facebook.com/pages/categ...7276730124995/ |
