One of the many things I really enjoy about REA is the length of their auctions. This one is 18 days. Was looking at another major auction recently and it seems to be 30 days. That's just way too friggin' long. And if anything it deflates the excitement and interest. REA right on. If you cant decide in 2 weeks and a few days whether you really want something and your bidding strategy for it I'm not sure what's going on.

One pet peeve of mine is auctions where you have to root around for 20 minutes to figure out when it ends. Why not display that prominently. Is it supposed to be a secret?

Do they still charge a buyer's surcharge or do you actually pay the amount of the winning bid?

Try finding your bids, the log-in link, scans of the backs of rare-back cards, the actual auction you’re interested in, etc. on Hunt.

Pretty much all auction houses charge a buyers premium.

It is quite pondering why David Hunt still uses that antiquated platform. It's really a disservice to his consigners and his auction house.

I have also wondered about the basis of their live auctions like the most recent Louisville Slugger auction. I think it's great to hold a live auction but their initial bidding ends the day before and a bidder must be on a phone call at the time the item is selling and bid if they are not on site. I just can't see that many bidders that want to hang around for a phone call rather than place a bid online where the auctions ends at a determined time. I know they now offer live bidding through Invaluable but I don't think that works any better.

I am not going to complain because I have gotten some really nice items at great prices at their live auctions that I don't think I would have gotten if they were with another competing auction house.

Yeah Hunt Auction website is like something from the 80's and so outdated. It's not like the company has no money to upgrade it. My pet peeve with them is they always show one picture of an item. Something like a game used item you want to see multiple pictures so why in the world do you put one picture. I have emailed them to send more pics when I'm interested in an item and they have so if they send me more pics why not put them in the auction. Puzzling their way of listing each item in the auction

Nothing from Hunt surprises me. Keep in mind they are the same company that threatened to stop dealers from setting up at the Philly Show if they also set up at another regional show in the Philadelphia area.
