Opinions if this card exists - E254 Colgan's Owen Wilson from Indianapolis
I'm trying to get opinions if an E254 colgans Owen Wilson from Indianapolis exists?
PSA says it has graded 6 of these cards I have been collecting these E254 colgans now for a little over 18 years now and have never heard of this card or seen it. I have and have seen Owen Wilson from Pittsburg. I have researched Owen Wilson and it shows no Owen Wilson every playing for Indianapolis. Please chime in and give your opinion on if this card exists? Thanks for taking the time to read this and a special thanks for anybody that comments. |
E254 ID error?
Hey Chris
Good luck in the hunt for info. This thread was moved from the BST because it is a question and not a BST transaction. |
There is no Wilson for Indianapolis but right next to him in the alphabetical checklist is Williams for Indianapolis so I think something is amiss with the population report.

this Owen Wilson?

Rhett Yeakley thanks for your response. I agree with you but PSA says it has graded 6 and I have told them they are mistaken but they insist they have not made a mistake 6 times. They say one is even registered and when they contact this person for a picture they do not reply and they say he could have passed away. I have told them the easiest way to confirm this is take it out and if someone has it they will send a picture which they will never see as it does not exist. How would you go about getting this changed in your opinion. I have even asked them to do a little research as I have to show that an Owen Wilson never played for Indianapolis not just during these years 1909 - 1911 but ever. I feel they are not really researching and for me to prove a card does not exist when it doesn't is tough ? Thanks for any help you can give me.

They don't list the card on their own official checklist either, so here is another vote for DNE/clerical error.

Agreed on it probably being a clerical error. Sometimes those things can take on lives of their own.

If it helps, this pair of problematic POPs for cards that don't exist immediately comes to mind...
There is no card #603 in the 1961 set. The 1971 Topps Pirates Team is card #603, so they most likely mixed up the 6 and 7 of the year during the grading process: Attachment 370768 All 1962 #139 Hal Reniff portrait variations are the 'regular' versions, not the green tints, yet the POP report lists 4 of them: Attachment 370769 |
