Anyone know Toppsahloic... looking to make a deal for a candy card
Outside of Ebay with these new tax regulations. Thanks bigtime. Brad

EDIT: To add that seller was banned from this site. |
avoid at all costs! has been known to sell questionable cards, and he will stalk you on eBay, sabotage your auctions and PM you relentlessly if he feels slighted in any way. also uses the name thebaseballmachine on eBay.
|
There is a whole thread dedicated to him on one of the PSA Facebook groups. He’s a complete looney toon.

So you can form your own opinion of the guy, here is a link to his posts on this board. http://www.net54baseball.com/search....archid=1877796
|
He came to the Net54 banquet at the National earlier this month. He is a 100% different person in person. He is still banned from here and says he should be. :)
I have seen a lot of head trips in moderating this forum for a long time but this is one of the strangest. He is super personable and friendly in person but a complete maniac behind the keyboard. He will even admit it. Very, very strange situation. |
The world of psychology is going to have to invent new disorders for the digital age.
|
Scott, already done, Internet gaming disorder (IGD) is a classified disorder in DSM-5 and has been for a few years.
|
Actually DSM-5 means it's not officially a disorder yet and needs more study. :P Plus it doesn't really fit Toppsaholic's symptoms.

I did a deal with him outside of ebay for a 1937 Donut Corp Ruth. All went well, card was shipped ASAP. He was very personable on the phone as well. I had no issues with Matt.
|
I just realized I dealt with him a couple years ago with I think an American Beauty Huggins portrait. Thanks guys. Brad
|
Not sure what the negativity is pertaining this guy...It appears that he has a spotless record with Ebay (13,000 feedback)....I'm sure Lehman will know, he knows everything else....So, how does this happen if he's a looney tune? I dont have a dog in this fight, but why the suspicions? I've never done a deal with the guy....

You seem to constantly attack several members, why is that? You have a blessed life. Not everyone can be a used car salesman who only has a job because Daddy owns the dealership. Most of us actually had to earn what we have.:) |
Brad,

I would contact him to see if you can make a deal. I haven’t had any issues with this seller. |

Ronnie,
You seem to take great interest in what I am doing. Sorry I am married so rule that out. The owner of Saco river is a friend of mine and that’s no secret. It’s unfortunate you couldn’t make the 54 dinner. Would have been great to meet you in person. ( you tuck your tail and went home) I hope you figure out a better use of your time. Trolling Don and I doesn’t pay well. I guess you have nothing else better to do. Which is your choice. We are very exciting people. So you have that going for you which is nice. |
nice to meet you toby.

So let me get this straight, TP being asked to disclose his name because he said he didn’t have an issue with Topps on transactions and contact him? It seems like there was another motive for RLs attack on TP.
What is wrong with that? |
gee Ed, it wasn’t an attack. the rule at the top of the page says if you give an opinion of a person you need to include your name with your post. Toby gave an opinion on toppsaholoc, (an opinion that is a lot different with what many on this board and other places have said, by the way)
|
There was no opinion given. He stated the fact that he had no problem in his transaction. He didn't say he was a swell guy, a snappy dresser and a good dancer.
|
i would not contact him to see if you can make a deal. I have had issues with this seller.
did I just give an opinion? |
The second half isn't opinion to me. The first half is troublesome to me more in the negative than the positive example from Bigfish's post. Though even "I have had issues", is more problematic than "I had no issues." You can't elucidate on the positive experience. "What kind of problems didn't you have?" isn't really valid. Once you venture into the negative though, some explanation is warranted. Though it can remain completely factual.
"He took three weeks to ship." "He pulled a bait and switch." "He said my mother dresses me funny." Would all NOT be opinions, merely reporting on the facts of the transaction. but a blanket, "I had issues" probably needs clarification if not a name attached. |
you went from a response of “Not in my book” to the current novelette. keep editing and eventually you might understand that a positive opinion needs a name beside it just like a negative one does.
|
Because I thought more deeply about it because I generally have an open mind.
"I had no problems." is not an opinion. "I had problems." is not an opinion, but in fairness could use some explanation. |
I agree with Scott on this. I do not see where TP opined on anything. Btw I told the OP I would send his contact info and yet to even hear back. Topps has a lot of cards and why burn a bridge. He does have 100% feedback with lots of it. So being honest doesnt seem a question.
|
Not sure if this is an opinion, but... Why is this thread in the BST? What is being bought or sold?
Full name is disclosed above. |
Stay Away From Toppsaholic
I caught this guy selling trimmed cards that he wasn't selling/described as Trimmed. How do I know? I sold some trimmed cards I had just received back from PSA to a dealer who knows me well and knew the T206's were trimmed. He in turn sold a few to a guy near Buffalo, who knew they were trimmed. The guy in Buffalo sold them to Toppaholic, who listed them on Ebay. At least 3-4 that came from me originally and there was no doubt.
I confronted Toppsaholic by email & he went into a rage on me. Even threatened me for calling him out for his deceitful practice. I have all the emails still. He's a nut case & seems a bit off. Stay away. Bob Com.mentucci |
Bigfish
I can vouch for Toby...He is a very exciting and dynamic guy !!
|
Same idea but the verbiage at the top of pages has been broadened. Some would say that a fact isn't an opinion. Regardless, a name was needed.
Now, however, there should be less ambiguity about when a name is needed. And if that doesn't do it we can broaden it some more. :) Quote:

Can this thread please end!!!
|
I'm in a pre-war group on Facebook, with lots of reputable member crossover from this board.
I've seen several express some very concerning messages from Toppsaholic aka Matthew Zimmerman. However, one came up today, where Matthew has found the members wife's phone number, and started texting her. Then this morning, he found the members child's name, and sent the following message via eBay to the member: "K***** (child's name) is getting big eh? You have trouble brewing" Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever dug into Matthews public records? Checked the sex offender registry? This is very concerning behavior... |
matthew zimmerman-
very rarely will I comment on members of the community, however...
toppsaholic is a TOTAL whacko, whether live or Memorex. he is a sociopath (perhaps psychopath ) that should be avoided. if you ignore these comments & persue a transaction, please feel free to return to this thread & update us on your results. best wishes, mark sanders |
