Opinions on shipping
My friend who has consigned some great FDC's to me has a signed bat he wants to sell, but is afraid to ship it. What is the Safest way to ship a bat in you guys opinions? its a Ted Williams signed Cooperstown Bat co bat and he's afraid it could get lost or stolen in mail.
Thanks all! Scott |
I have shipped quite a few in bat tubes by priority mail; never had a problem.
That said, there was a recent thread on the vintage side with some concerns about actually claiming the insurance in case something went wrong. http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=272423 |
and by bat tubes, I mean the priority mail cardboard triangle ones. I would NOT of course ship a bat inside a clear bat tube.
That would be asking for a problem. |

if you are really worried you have to pay, insured overnight. Costly but the best way

I've shipped and received hundreds of bats, and never had an issue.
As stated above, use the clear bat tube within the triangular shipping box. Add some styrofoam "peanuts" or bubble wrap to fill the gaps. It should be fine. |
Thanks guys! May offer it here soon
