FS: 1941 Detroit vs. NYY game used baseball
 

Last month, I picked up this old OAL Reach baseball from a local antiques dealer. The inscription reads, "Briggs Stadium, May 4, 1941, Fowl (sp.) ball by Priddy of the Yankees, Tigers vs. NY Yankees, 7th fowl (sp.) ball hit by him that day."

I looked up the box score and the date matches up. The Tigers won 10-1 with Bobo Newsom getting the win. Joe DiMaggio hit a double and started his 56 game hit streak 11 days later. Kind of cool moment in time with our involvement in WWII starting 6 months later, as well.

Letters in the inscription have been slightly enhanced/retraced at some point, long ago. The Reach stampings on the back of the ball are barely visible.
