Huggins & Scott Auctions
So I bid on my first lot with H&S last night. I bid on the lot of the 55 Topps Koufax PSA 3 and Clemente PSA 2. They both had decent centering and nice eye appeal.
I bid $850 with about 2.5 hours left. I was going to wait to increase my bid to ~ $1,000 close to the end and see where it went to in the last 1/2 hour. Well, when I went to increase my bid, it was already at $1,200. I watched it and it ended at $1,500!!! I think the Clemente PSA 2 goes for $600-700 and the Koufax PSA 3 is in the $350-$400 range. Has anyone else had experience bidding with H&S? Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I won one card last night and bid in most of their auctions. I forgot to put in a max bid and fell asleep. I got up this morning and found I had won it at my last bid price. Very happy..... And have never had an issue with them. (they are an advertiser here but regardless, never an issue bidding with them)
Nice cards for their grade can go 2-3x more than a crappy or average looking one in the same grade, nowadays. Quote:

Don’t let a numeric grade cloud your mind. Good eye appeal and centering goes along way in my book . As the adage goes. “ buy the card not the grade ‘
I personally have never had a issue with H&S. Love what they offer... it’s like the flea market of auction houses! |
Thanks guys. I wasn't insinuating there was shill bidding or anything. I should have asked if H&S typically gets higher prices.
I should have bid on the 52 Mays PSA 4 or the 55 Koufax PSA 6 I wanted but thought those two cards would go for more than they ended at. And I agree with the adage, buy the card, not the grade. |
