T205 Moran on eBay

Anyone see this Moran Stray Line sell for $8 on eBay last night? Card was in horrible shape but I still thought it would go for $50+. Any thoughts on the card itself. Is the card dropping a lot in value?

I never heard of this variation before until I saw this posting. Is the Moran card the only one that has this variation?

I would think it is the fact that a TPG wouldn't grade it that scared off some people. I am not saying it is fake, but the lack of TPG support can send some people away.

I missed it or I would've been all over it at that price

I don't think Moran Stray Line has been dropping in value. But this one was really rough. It seems like the card comes along on eBay in a 1 or 2 every couple of months; maybe set collectors decided to wait. I agree with Andy that the "TPG wouldn't grade" text might have scared some folks off. Also, I don't remember seeing that auction when it started, and I keep a close eye on T205s, so maybe it didn't show up as "newly listed" right away for some reason.

The Moran is the only card that has an extra line of text (it comes from Mattern's card), but a couple of cards have extra lines of stats.

- Dolly Gray has a stray line of 1910 stats on Sovereign and Piedmont 25 backs. The stray line, curiously, seems to come from Phelps, a National Leaguer.

- Bobby Wallace no-cap 2-lines of 1910 stats has a stray line of 1910 stats on Polar Bear, Piedmont 25 and Piedmont 42 backs. The stray line, again curiously, seems to come from Miller, another National Leaguer.

Since it ended last night you can get in the line of people now messaging the seller to screw the buyer.;)

I'm kind of surprised they didn't grade it, to be honest. They graded this Cy Young for me, which is in horrible shape. I only wanted it slabbed to protect it from further damage. That card is rough, no doubt. But, unless it's got a huge separation or something, there's definitely still enough of it there to consider it a complete card. Definitely an Auth, but not sure why that couldn't be slabbed if they didn't have concerns about its authenticity.

Might be doing the buyer a favor! That's a tough looking card to love...;)
