1976 Topps Baseball Set Question
Piecing this set together and noticed there is a traded series. Do folks usually build this group of cards at the end of the set? I'm trying to sleeve them in pages/album. Do most folks consider the traded series to "complete" the whole set or is it kinda just a nice add on? Thanks, Pat

For Me 74 and 76 traded i consider as part of my set so its in one binder. But to each his/her own. It's funny the 72 included traded as part of its regular set.

I have always bought the update or traded sets and keep them with my base set in a binder. For me, the "set" is not complete without them. But I can easily see why others feel differently. I do the same with the Heritage sets

I have them together in one binder.

Agree they should go in the same binder. I'd add that because the card number for each player is the same as that player's regular card, with a T added, you can also justify including the traded card right after the regular card for that player in the binder pages. Could make for a cool look.

I don't keep my sets in binders but, if I did, the traded series would be with the binder. I say that because it was issued in pack form just like the base set. Had it been a separate box set (say '81 Traded), then I would keep them separately.
All my sets are in boxes and the traded sets ('74 and '76) are kept in the same boxes (along with the team checklists ('73 & '74). |
David-- you have to remove those team checklists immediately :)

Ha! Whys is that, Al? Those are so hard to find well centered and in high grade (raw). I'm still working on both '73 and '74 team checklists. I did pick up a set of '74 on the BST recently in mid-grade condition just so I can say my '74 set is complete, but I'm slowly working on replacing them with NM-MT ones.

They are numbered to be placed next to the card it replaced (Fergie Jenkins Red Sox next to Jenkins Rangers, etc.).
