1947 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Issue photos
Does anyone have their set of 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers Team Issue photos handy and not graded? I’m trying to determine if the ones I have are real or not. The ones I have are in really nice condition, but they are on a stock I am not familiar with. The older sets I’ve seen are either on thinner stock, or something that resembles modern construction paper (like kids use in school). My photos are thicker, almost like a modern oak tag, for lack of a better description. Anyone have any thoughts or opinions? Thanks. Alan

Is that the one with Jackie?
Or was that one issued later? I have a set that features Jackie. Sean |

Yes, it has a Jackie. My set looks like this one that sold in a Clean Sweep Auction (link above). Thanks for your help! Alan |
'47, is Hodges in catchers gear?
EDIT: OK that's the one. Mine are on a stock that is a matte finish and slightly less heavy than construction paper. |
That’s how my Hodges is as well. I got the Hodges separately from these others that I am concerned about, and they are on a stock I would equate with a Manila envelope. Anyone have any ideas? Might just sent one in to Beckett to see what they say.

..yes, they grade the Team-Issues. Expect large return shipping cost-- slabs are sturdy and heavy. I would tilt them into a strong light before sending them in because they punish barely-visible hairline wrinkles with a technical "4". Good luck , keep us posted. .. |
Thanks for the advice.
I’m just having one graded for the sake of authenticity. I’m worried the ones I have are no good, as they are made on a stock I am unfamiliar with. That and the fact that I have 6 Sniders in remarkably good shape leads me to this conclusion |
