To keep or trade down?
First off, I don't deal in graded. I just don't like the idea, and I don't see myself ever getting into graded stuff as I won't be able to afford HOFer RCs or T cards.
But I got this card at a pretty good price, so I jumped at it. Now I'm looking at my options. Should I crack it out and just have it in my set? Should I try and trade down on it? For example, trade it for a raw copy in the same condition? Should I just sell it as is and let it pay for the entire purchase I made (it was a multicard purchase)? Or what are my best options? Here is the card in question... https://i.imgur.com/VQSJbaZ.jpg?1 |
How nice is your 1961 set and do you need the Gehrig, or is it essentially a double? If you don't need it and its sale could pay for the other cards you bought, I would see that as a nice win for you. If you do need it, then I would see how much it would cost you to find an ungraded one for your set, and how much you could reasonably expect to get for the PSA 6 in a sale, and make a decision based on those numbers.

It's not a double as I only have 3 cards from the set thus far. So I'm really just getting started. I simply picked it up because it was a good deal.
I think I'm just going to sell it and buy a few other cards I like from a set I'm actually working on (58T). Either that or find someone that needs a PSA copy and will trade me a raw copy for it. Not sure if people do that, but I guess we will see. Quote:

No harm in putting up for sale at a number that would make a decent return for you. Worst case, no takers and you’ve got a nice card in your collection... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks. But as I said, I have NO interest in graded cards whatsoever. Just don't deal in that stuff, especially now with all the rift-raft coming out.

I'm hoping someone will have some raw 58s or 54s and I can trade, but I haven't found anyone around here willing to trade with me. But we shall see. If no, I'll sell as is or possibly crack out. Quote:
