HUGE modern collection for sale - Chicago area

Through my role on the SABR Baseball Cards Research Committee I was put in touch with a widow who needs to sell her late husband's collection. This is a collection of between 1.5 million and 2 million cards, mainly from the dreaded "junk wax" era.

I spent the whole day yesterday attempting to create some sort of inventory, but I have to say I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of cards and the rather small spaces they lived in. What I can say is that there are a ridiculous number of traded/rookie sets, factory sets, sets in binders, sets in 800 ct boxes, and "loose" cards in monster (5000 ct) boxes. From what I could tell, years ranged from around 1981-2006 or so, with about 50% baseball, about 20% basketball, 20% football, 8% hockey, and the remainder a mix of racing, golf, WWF, etc.

As for condition, 95% of the cards themselves seem to be well protected and in good shape. As the collector sold a lot of stuff through the mail to support his hobby, there are stockpiles of certain things in numbers beyond what most collectors would want. For instance, picture more than a dozen 1990 Score traded sets!

If you are potentially interesting in buying the entire collection and can arrange for its transport please send me a PM. I am happy to provide an extra pair of hands for carrying things out to a van or truck, but I'm definitely not looking to ship, transport, or cherry pick portions of the collection.

Thank you, and feel free to send along or post any questions. If you're on Twitter you will see my pinned tweet/thread @HeavyJ28 has perhaps a tad more detail.
