WTB 1956 Topps Salesman Sample
Hi,
I’m trying to collect Topps materials related to the 1956 set. Other than the variations of the cards, the two wrappers, a box, an unopened pack and the pins, I’m interested in other things Topps did for baseball in 1956. Do you know of anything else that Topps did in 1956? Thanks! |

Topps did a 3 card salesman sample and a 4 card salesman sample
Attached is a rather rough example of the 56, it’s the only 3 card one I’ve seen in about 15 years of looking. A 4 card sample was offered in Legendary about 2010 but unfortunately the entity that now has those archives has chosen to hide them |
1956
I put together the 18 card baseball subset of the Topps 1956 Hocus Focus set. That set and the similar 1955 Hocus Focus baseball subset were in my experience the toughest Topps issued ( rather than limited or unissued test sets) to complete.
If you have the pins, do you have one of the retail boxes in which the individual pins were packaged ? Is your 56 pack a nickle or penny pack? I have had to settle for an unopened penny pack. I have had no success on a Salesman sample for 56 |
Thanks for the info!
I had not thought of the Hocus Focus - great idea! I have a 5 cent wrapper. Still working on the pins . . . |
