One of my favorites that I got to see in person, had a great time

Awesome. I was stationed at Seymour from 1992-94. I liked it so much that when I got out of the Air Force, I moved to North Carolina permanently. I loved doing the shows, although I was always working on KC-10's in those days. Glad you had this experience.

Thank You for your service. Seymour Johnson put on a good show. Next year will be at Cherry Point

AIR FORCE....B52 bombers
 

Hi Ron

Thanx for the memories. I was a Radar Specialist in the Air Force in the 1960's. Stationed at a Strategic Air Command (SAC) base in Maine.
We had a squadron of B52 bombers.

I will never forget the excitement of being in the cockpit of one of these "big birds". I felt like Slim Pickens in the movie "Dr. Strangelove" :)

They are an amazing piece of machinery ….the first group of B52 bombers were built in 1952....and, I think some of them may still be flying.


Here's me when I was Radar school in Illinois. Incidentally, I'm a "Jersey guy", too.

Nice Ted the B52 is a Bad Ass I wished they would have let the public see the cockpit area I cant imagine what it looks like .My Uncle was stationed in Plattsburgh NY in the early 60's also a SAC base. Ted what part or Exit of NJ where you from and Thank You for your Service

I grew up in Hillside, NJ. My nearby neighbor (only 2 blocks away) was "The Scooter" Phil Rizzuto. A wonderful guy to us kids in our neighborhood back in the 1950's.

He would drive down our street on his way to Yankee Stadium. And, we always knew when he was approaching because he drove a 2-seater 1953 Nash Metropolitan.
He would stop and talk with us. In 1950, when he was awarded AL MVP, we gave him a box of homemade cannolis (his favorite dessert).

Wow Ted great memories I grew up in South River, NJ and remember watching Joe Theismann and Drew Pearson when they played HS football when I was a kid

As you well know, Drew Pearson was an amazing wide receiver.

I was an avid Redskins fan (John Riggins was my guy) during the time when Joe Theismann was their quarterback (1974-1985).

Fond memories of those years.
