Worth Less - Borderline OT 1 Attachment(s) We all have one (or more), so open your closet and share a graded card that is worth less than the cost of grading. Attachment 346688 I'm keeping the scan small on this one to prevent you from drooling on it. I bought this card, already graded, in an eBay Auction for one penny. If anyone thinks it is worth $10.00 (estimated cost of grading including shipping and insurance), you can have it. 1000% ROI should cover the cost of shipping. |

2 Attachment(s) Fun topic, Frank. I've often pondered that. Here are a couple cards that I overpaid $8-10 for. Not sure they could be graded for less. For the record, the kid in me thought Kevin Seitzer was a surefire HoFer in 1987. |

1 Attachment(s) Take your pick on these two. Nice cards I grabbed for a couple of bucks apiece as I recall. Destined to be cracked open and put in my Rangers binder. Attachment 346692 |

1 Attachment(s) Here are 4 that I have. They are all mislabeled by PSA. I picked up the 3 Randy johnson cards for way less than the price of grading because they are mislabeled. All 3 really are Marlboro error versions. 2 are box versions and the 3rd is the semi rare green scribble. The Bill Ripken is really a super cheap black box version. PSA labeled it as the rare whited out version that sells for several hundred dollars. |

But to preserve my integrity, I will not raise the price. The card may still be purchased for $10. |

I can't access a scan at work, but I've got a 1985 Donruss Dave Winfield BCCG 9 that I couldn't find a taker for at $1.99 on ebay. I should relist it for $.01 and see what happens. |

I have several PSA-10 Joey Gallo Rookie Cards - but, if he ever starts hitting breaking stuff... . |

Another example of diving two deep into Wells 2 Attachment(s) In a world full of as wells, one can not have too many twos as well. Another thought: Are too many two Wells better than none? These two two's are not my cards and may be worth more than the grading cost as well, being that I am not too familiar with two graded Venezuelans. Brian (not a supporter of as wells or two too's too...hopefully Frank will have mercy on my word-playing ways and not label me as an as well as well). |

1 Attachment(s) Not mine, but I'm pretty sure there is not a more worthless card out there. I remember someone submitting this to PSA with the goal of having the most worthless PSA-graded card ever - he should have the title wrapped up! Pretty funny.... |

It's not worth the effort of scanning it, but I have a PSA 8 1990 Topps Bernie Sanders, submitted by yours truly. I sent it in because it was a mint condition rookie card of a surefire Hall of Famer. Well, 1 out of 3 ain't bad. |

Back in 1990 as a 60 year old rookie. Too bad he just couldn’t handle the curve ball. Quote:

Did I really write that? Bernie Williams. Williams. I need to get back to reading more sports and less politics. |

Does his card state his position as "Way Far Left Fielder"?? |
|
An eBayer seller sent me a 2001 Topps Trot Nixon PSA 8 as a "free gift" with my order. I imagine that's about what it's worth. |

Clearly not enough scans in this thread. If you've got 'em, post 'em. |

2 Attachment(s) Here is an 'on-topic' example of a PreWW2 card that is probably worth less than the grading cost (anyone out there willing to admit knowing what GMA charges?). I am sure there is a lot more graded vintage out there worth less than this W515-1 Johnston, which I assume received its Fair grade based upon the fact that the bottom border hadn't been sliced off too. Another Prewar gem Christopher Carson RC https://www.collectorfocus.com/image...56896/z-carson In this condition a sale of over $5 would be lucky |

4 Attachment(s) I own more than a few graded cards that are worthless. I used to buy those random graded cards from Target back in the early 2000's thinking I would get something good. All I ever got was a bunch of Beckett graded commons mostly in the 8 range. The Giambi rookie I paid about $1.50 just because I was the only person dumb enough to bid. I paid about the price of grading for the Murray as I was going to send in the copy I pulled as a kid but realized my original was a little to rough to spend money grading considering it is only about a 50 cent card. The Vaughan card I got from a coworker for free and sent it in to be graded so I'm only out grading fees. And last and definitely least is another card I got for free from a friend and also only worth about 50 cents is a Magic card that I had graded because I thought it would be worth saving. Not only did they get the year wrong on the flip but they way over graded it as it has a lot of wear on the back. |
