Another Scammer Thread
If interested, the short version is to read the first 2 posts and then skip all the way to posts 242-250
https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1276110 Middle 100 posts are threats and arguments completely unlike the civil discussions here. Edited to remove “Basketball” from the title since it appears forum member here think it doesn’t affect their baseball cards. It’s clear that dealers are making tons of money just by buying/trimming/selling. |
There are some super sleuths on Blowout. And they're just brutal if they think someone is altering cards.

Thanks for the link. It was a very interesting read and very scary to see that psa and bgs are grading altered cards. Great detective work by those guys.
Also, just a word of caution. The seller of these cards is threatening legal action against anyone who insinuates that they are involved in altering cards. So before you comment be careful in accusing anyone without proof. |

I only lurk on BO, but those folks are absolutely great detectives and are truly exposing those who hurt the hobby...

If they had to put names by their posts that thread would be approximately 12 posts long. Many of the flame flowers seem unknown. What a train wreck.

Pretty interesting connecting the dots on this. Appears this seller was the purchaser of the raw cards and seller of the altered graded cards. See Post #8. Turning 8s and 8.5s into 10s. Crazy but real. The technology is there. Be careful. So glad I don't chase the high end graded stuff. |

It now appears that the accused scammer has packed his toys and disappeared...
Agreed posting names here is good... |
He was banned for opening a second account to argue on his behalf. He can threaten law suits all he wants. The proof is there. However the real problem imo arent the trimmers, but the grading gives legitimacy to them. These are modern cards we are talking about where 9999 out of 10000 cards are the exact same size. There is no excuse for this. Makes me wonder how many vintage without exacting specifications are trimmed and in slabs. Things like this will kill the hobby. There are already fake PSA slabs with fake cards and real bar codes, counterfeiters are getting closer and closer to making indistinguishable cards, now the grading companies are grading trimmed cards. Sad all around.
