Hank Greenberg baseball help
 

I have been offered a signed Hank Greenberg baseball. It is an American League Bobby Brown baseball with a Haiti stamp. These baseballs were produced from 1985–1989. Therefore, it would had to have been signed in 1985 or 1986 by Greenberg before his death. Does anyone know if he was actively signing autographs during those years? Thanks.

Hello.....he signed a bunch of stuff in 1983 when the Detroit franchise retired his and Gehringers uniform numbers in a ceremony at Tiger Stadium....I have seen signed letters also around that time so I think that is very possible....

I have a ball that he (and Gehringer and about 10 other former Tigers) signed during the '83 festivities to retire their uniform numbers.

If I remember correctly, he battled cancer the last year of his life, but I never heard anything about him not signing and never saw any labored sigs.
