I didn't care for the way Jane Leavy injected herself into the Last Boy, particularly where the anecdote made Mantle look bad.

Haven't read the book, but if there is an injection involved, I will probably pass.

Leavy's book was horrible and the latest A SEASON IN THE SUN has more inaccuracies than any baseball book I've read in the last decade. You would think with all the info available and knowing that so many people are SABR savy that an author(s) would do a better job. Of course in the latter's case a pretty dust jacket sells books!

The only one I have read is My Favorite Summer 1956. It is easy reading and shares some great stories about the Mick, his teammates, and all the parties. Some really funny stories too.
