Prestine Auction Misleading

The prices of these cards are insane. It is very misleading to quote a Becket price without a grade.

Do you feel this is intentionally misleading?

I’d say it is a statement of someone’s opinion. Could be right or could be wrong.

The first couple of cards have like 23 and 32 bids. I guess people are interst3d enough

Opinion to state Becket value?

Look at the Young glove shows lot. There is no way that card is worth 1200 in an SGC authentic condition.

It is an out of context statement I think. No?

What if I had a green T206 green cobb in a PSA 1 holder and said in an auction the SMR price is 12000 dollars? Would you feel the same way?

I'm guessing the majority of registered folks bidding on a Cobb or Young know what they're bidding on. Yes, the BV numbers are a bit silly and misleading. But if a bidder is relying on these numbers to determine their bids, they've got bigger problems.

I have not looked at a Beckett BV in 15 years. I doubt anyone gives it much of a thought. Values are generally set by Ebay sales at this day and age. As stated, those searching for a Cobb or Young are not novices. Citing Beckett BV is likely done as a starting reference point.
